What happens after I submit a grant application?
We consider receipt of your application the beginning of a relationship. Once your application is complete and addresses a priority within our grantmaking program, it will be assigned to a grant officer for review. A grant officer will speak with you further and may request a meeting. In the course of the application review, applicants are also requested to share with a member of our team any new information that may significantly affect the proposed project.Share

The review process is comprised of two stages: the on-site assessment followed by a full proposal if invited. Grant proposals are carefully reviewed by Advisory Committee and then ultimately approved or declined by the Board.Share
Would the foundation consider multi-year funding?
The foundation considers anything beyond one-year, multi-year funding. In most instances, our multi-year grants are two years.Share
If an organization doesn’t have a previous funding relationship with the foundation, will their application be considered only after all current and past grantees are considered?
Yes, organizations new to the foundation are highly encouraged to submit an application.Share

We will email you an award letter and a “Grant Terms, Conditions and Understandings” agreement. This outlines the funding and reporting schedule as well as other pertinent details and requirements.Share
What is the typical grant amount?
There is no typical grant amount. The size of a grant varies on the security needs of a particular project and the Foundation’s financial resources. The exact amount is at the discretion of the Advisory Committee.Share

What will the Foundation not support?
The Foundation does not make grants to support operating deficits, or endowments. Finally, the Foundation does not support initiatives that are in conflict with its values.Share
